Albanian students show their European dreams in videos

At a time when the United Kingdom is leaving the European Union, Albanian youth are challenging this reality. They believe in European values and want to give a message to Albania and the EU.
In one minute they said it all during the public presentation of their reflective works on 28 February 2020. Lekë Tasi, a former political persecutee of the communist dictatorship, and author of the book "Grabjani in the foothills" was present at the ceremony. Mr. Tasi encouraged young people to continue to be part of these projects and not to stop believing in their dreams.
The participants joined the "My European Dream" project organized by the Institute for Democracy, Media & Culture in collaboration with the Albanian Media Institute through trainings and various workshops, reflecting with creative videos for about six months.
In the ceremony the young people gave their motivations in joining the project and invited other fellow students with messages about their country and the EU.
- First, by joining the project and researching on European values, they discovered the values of their own country and found they need to improve as Albania commits to its path towards the EU.
- Second, the EU should make sure its values are ingrained in Albanian young people, the future generation who believes in the Union and has a clear European dream.
