Allowed AI uses (with disclosure)

You may use AI for:

  • Grammar, clarity, and language improvement,
  • Translation and transcription (with human review),
  • Structuring notes, timelines, interview questions, or brainstorming,
  • Optional creative visuals (e.g., illustrative reconstructions), clearly presented as interpretation, not evidence.

Not allowed

You may not use AI to:

  • Write the main narrative/script or replace your reflection and analysis,
  • Invent facts, quotes, sources, or historical evidence,
  • Misrepresent AI-generated visuals/audio as authentic historical material,
  • Upload personal/sensitive data (especially of minors) to unsafe tools.

Transparency is mandatory

Include a short AI Use Statement in your submission (2–5 lines) stating:

  • the tool(s) used (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Adobe AI),
  • what you used them for (e.g., translation, transcript, language editing),
  • how you checked and corrected the output.

Sources and fact-checking

AI outputs must be treated as unverified. You are responsible for fact-checking and meeting the competition requirement for historical sources.

Privacy and copyright

Respect privacy (especially for minors) and copyright permissions for all media. AI does not replace consent or usage rights.

Integrity

Undisclosed AI use, fabricated sources, or deceptive AI content may lead to clarification requests, score penalties, or disqualification in serious cases.

(Example): Copy-paste AI Use Statement

“I used AI (tool: ___) for ___ (e.g., translation/transcription/language editing). I reviewed and corrected the output by ___. The story, interpretation, and final film are my own work.”
