New man in films under dictatorship (1958–1990) III

The topic of the discussion in the third meeting of the workshop "New Man in Films under Dictatorship (1958–1990)" was the "female role model". It is important to note that this workshop has received the attention of many young people. This was seen in the participation, where among history and journalism students, joined also students from the Faculty of the Architecture.
As agreed in advance the movies which were discussed in this meeting were: "Cuca e maleve" (Loni Papa, 1972), "Kur po xhirohej një film" (Xhanfise Keko, 1981), "Nxënësit e klasës sime" (Saimir Kumbaro, 1984), "Treni niset në 7 pa pesë" (Spartak Pecani, 1988).
During the meeting Prof. Asc. Dr. Linda Mëniku showed young people how the female was seen in the society of the communist regime. She said that the main aim of the communists was emancipation and breaking old mentalities of that time. "We should not forget that everything comes after relations with China and proclamation of Albania as the first atheist country in the world," said Prof. Mëniku, while opened the discussion about the figure of the main character of "Cuca".
Young people analyzing the movies pointed out the derogatory ways of presenting the religion and the Clergy in the movies. Among the discussed movies, the most debated movie was "Treni niset në 7 pa pesë". Etleva was the ideal woman for the communist ideology that fights alone to protect the socialism values.
