#fromfaketocheck – Citizen dialogue: Tackling misinformation

On November 4th, in Tirana, a citizen dialogue, #fromfaketocheck, took place, bringing together over 90 participants to share their experiences and perspectives on the issue of misinformation and fake news.

The participants in this dialogue discussed how they access information and the challenges they face related to misinformation. In an open and constructive environment, they reflected on the impact of misinformation on individual thinking and the broader societal consequences.

This process, while focused on individual experiences, highlighted the importance of collaboration and mutual support in tackling misinformation. Group work provided a valuable platform for sharing personal experiences and reflections.

As mentioned earlier, over 90 participants actively contributed to the "From Fake to Check" dialogue, bringing their ideas, experiences, and expertise to the table.

The activity was also supported by media and communications experts, including Neritan Sejamini, Jonila Godole, Valbona Bezati, and Belina Budini, who enriched the discussion with their knowledge and insights.

Another important aspect of the event was the dedication of the facilitators, Rashela Shehu, Ergisa Zyka, Mirela Sheraj, Erblin Vukaj, and Jozita Zhura, who ensured that all participants had the opportunity to share their information, ideas, and experiences.

"From Fake to Check" is an innovative project led by Missions Publiques, in collaboration with four partners from the Western Balkans. Launched in April 2023, this project is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office. This initiative supports the Office's efforts to combat disinformation and provides strategic support for the Western Balkans' efforts to join the European Union.
