Conversation with writer Alma Liço

IDMC was in Cerrik within the project "Literature as a Place of Memory" with teachers and students of the area, as well as with the guest writer, former persecuted in the area of Dragot (Elbasan), Alma N. Lico.
After the presentation of the IDMC documentary "Children of the Dictatorship", Alma Liço read excerpts from her book "Broken Arms" and became part of a conversation with young people.
"Children of the Dictatorship" was produced by the Institute for Democracy, Media and Culture, directed by Besnik Bisha. The film focuses on the fate of four people of different ages who were born and spent their childhood in prisons or places of internment: Simon Mirakaj, Alma Liço, Ritvana Mena and Lurian Mena.
"Broken Arms" is the publication of the experiences of the writer Alma Liço on her internment and that of her family.
The Director of IDMC, Dr. Jonila Godole and curriculum expert Fatmiroshe Xhemalaj, stressed the importance of knowing the past, meeting witnesses and visits that young people should make to places of remembrance.
