"Communism through archival documents" in Shkodra

Published on

IDMC in cooperation with the Albanian History Teachers Association organized the third training for the history teachers for the book "Communism through Archival Documents 1" in Shkodra. This manual addresses the repression and period of self isolation from the second half of 1970 to the first half of 1980. Teachers learned how to use this book in the classroom with their pupils.

As in the previous trainings, this training was also organized in three parallel workshops. The groups worked based in concrete archival documents from the book. Through these trainings IDMC aims to help teachers build a lesson through the use of historical documents with interactive learning methods in the classroom. Learning and the understanding of history in school becomes more meaningful if high school students and teachers use in classroom resources appropriate to the age of the student.

In the end of the training, the evaluation form for the workshop was completed and the certificates of participation were delivered.

The workshop in Shkodra marked the closing of the training cycle for the first volume of the book "Communism through Archival Documents". However, this workshop does not mark the last workshop with teachers this year. IDMC will organize another workshop in June with history teachers and experts to discuss the structure of the second volume of the book "Communism through Archival Documents".
