Children of the Dictatorship

The documentary "Children of the Dictatorship" was produced by the Institute for Democracy, Media and Culture, directed by Besnik Bisha. The film focuses on the fates of four individuals, of various ages, who were born and spent their childhoods in prisons or places of detention: Simon Mirakaj, Alma Liço, Ritvana Mena, and Lurian Mena.

They represent different generations and offer the Albanian and international public an autobiographical perspective on the system. This documentary, produced in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts, Film Department, aims to raise awareness among young people about the consequences of the dictatorship, where even infants were punished according to the laws of the time as "enemies of the people".

This film will be screened in 2017 at educational institutions and public events, and it is provided with Albanian and English subtitles.
