Memory as a mission

"Memory as a Mission" is an album containing selected works of young people participating in competitions organized by the Institute for Democracy, Media and Culture from 2015 until today. Through these competitions we aimed to motivate young people to creatively find their voice about what the past and the present mean to them. Generally, when we talk about the younger generation, especially in the field of recognizing the communist past, we think of their indifference and lack of interest. This undoubtedly remains a challenge and is nourished by the deep shortcomings in the school curriculum, by the silence of the generation of parents and grandparents, by the cacophony in the media where the stories of both the politically persecuted and their persecutors are published without criteria. So it is not the fault of young people who are uninformed or misinformed. Their education on this dark period of Albania's history should have been a priority in the last 30 years.
