90s Albania, Jan Jansen's collection

IDMC in collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Tirana and Faculty of History & Philology organized the delivery ceremony of the Albanian newspapers in 1990s, collected by Jan Jansen, Human Rights Activist.

In this ceremony took part students of Journalism and Communication; the Head of the Department of Journalism and Communication of the University of Tirana, Prof. Ass. Dr. Mark Marku; the Dean of the Faculty of History and Philology of the University of Tirana, Prof. Dr. Sabri Laçi; Deputy Ambassador Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands, Mrs. Petra Heylen; Mr. Jan Jansen, Human Rights Activist and Dr. Jonila Godole, Director of the Institute for Democracy, Media & Culture (IDMC), who moderated the event.

Mr. Jansen talked about the development of journalism from the 90s to the present, listing some of the collections of newspapers and papers at that time. Along with his stay in Albania and his studies, he listed 30 topics that may be worth studying further, inviting all students to use them in their study topics as well. Some of these topics, also cited by Dr. Jonila Godole, are of particular importance as students from the Department of Journalism and Communication will have the opportunity to choose one of the topics referred to the 90s media and four of the best works will be published at Albanian Observatory of Memory, then at the Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands where they will be finalized with a presentation.

The main focus was on the print media, mainly in the newspaper and for some reasons that shifted the attention to online media. Mrs. Petra Heylen emphasized:
